Chen Jun

Professor CHEN Jun was born in August 1969 in China. He received his Bachelor degree and Master degree from Shandong Polytechnic University in July 1990 and July 1993, respectively, then received his PhD degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in July 1996. He used to be the visiting scholar at The University of Michigan and Ford Motor Company during April 1998 - April 1999. He was prompted as associate professor in June 1999, and has been the full professor during August, 2004 - August 2016. Now he has been the tenured professor at School of Materials Science and Engineering since August 2016. He is now also serving as the Head of IFTE (formerly Department of Plasticity Technology) of SJTU, Associate Director of National Engineering Research Center of Die & Mold CAD and Director of Shanghai Research Institute of Tool & Die Technology. His research topics include advanced material stamping and incremental sheet forming, theory of plasticity for sheet metal (yield criterion, hardening model, forming limit and ductile fracture model) and numerical simulation of metal forming, etc. Professor Chen has chaired more than 30 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industrialization and Information Technology and the industries. He has jointly published more than 200 journal papers and 30 conference papers, and served as co-chair, key-note speaker, member of scientific committee and session chair of more than 20 international conferences and workshops, and now he is the Associate Editor of Journal of Engineering Manufacture, and Editorial Board Member of Journal of Materials Processing Technology.
